This week in our class:

I hope everyone is staying safe during these crazy winter days. I know that this southern bread lady is hibernating in the house unless it is necessary to get out. Please be sure to keep an eye on the news channels to see if school has been canceled. If Manhattan schools are out, then we will be out as well.

Since I had some time on my hands I wanted to let you guys know what we will be doing this week in our class.

Our centers will be focused on Valentines, President's Day, and Groundhog day. We will be making cherry trees in the art center, counting to 100 in the Math center, writing our site words in the read around the room center, matching the lower case letters in the ABD center, playing Hi Ho Cherry O!, and writing about what love is.

We will also be making predictions on what the Groundhog will see on Feb 2nd, making log homes, Presidents books, and our own money. We will be learning about the letter "Dd" and our site words will be: done, draw, drink, does, down, did, do, don't.

Our Bible study is "Moses leads the people".

Be sure to ask your student about what they learned. I am sure they will love telling you all about it.

With this month we also have our Valentine's Day party. We will be having our party on Feb. 16th. I will be sending home a list of student names for you and your student to put on their Valentine cards. Feel free to send treats, but don't feel obligated to do so. We always feel loved on the holidays with all of the wonderful treats that you send. Please keep in mind that we do have a student that has a peanut allergy and try to not send anything with peanuts in it.
