Worms and Spiders

The wonderful week of wiggly creatures, displayed below:

Math Centers:
  • create a booklet displaying "more or less" after rolling a die to count spiders
  • count the numbers of two dice; use the number given to add a body part (eyes, antennae, legs, etc) to your doodle bug
  • estimate how many "worms" (cooked spaghetti) are in a container
  • draw a card and name the shape; use string to create a spider web in that shape
  • Bob the Builder memory

Lit Centers:
  • complete a bubble map describing spiders to reinforce sentences and adjectives
  • reading loft
  • place alphabet circles in order to create a worm
  • color match puzzles
  • cut the letter Z, then marble paint (like a zebra!)

Additional Activities:
  • fold eight legs to create a spider hat
  • make "dirt pudding" with gummy worms
  • John baptizes Jesus craft
  • graph "Are you afraid of spiders?"
