Fall

Ask your kiddos about the change of season...what season is it? What is another name for fall? What happens to the leaves? What colors do you see in the fall? What might grow in the fall? What parts of the tree do you know? They should have learned all this and more from our activities this week! Check them out:

We used fine motor skills to snip letters and then re-arrange them to spell "Fall Tree." Orange, red, and yellow tissue paper were then used to decorated the fall tree's branches.

Kaylee compares apple halves to look for a match of letters.

This group took turns rolling a multi-colored die and coloring a picture beginning with that same letter. They currently color a yellow cat because the die landed on yellow "Cc."

Owen looks at the picture he began on his encouragement card. The students learned about the meaning of "encourage" and practiced expressing themselves by telling their friends nice things, then putting them in that friend's encouragement pocket.

Eric works on completing a truck using pattern blocks.

The sensory table provided an opportunity to measure, pour, and create during our math centers.

Thayer completes his sailboat picture
Ashley re-pieces the monster puzzle she colored and cut
Brynn used fine motor skills to squeeze the correct number of paint drops to create autumn leaves on the numbered trees.
The afternoon class sings our scarecrow song
And then made scarecrows!

Songs from this week:

"Naaman" (sung to 'Skip to my Lou')

Naaman was the captain of the army.
He had a slave girl who loved God.
The girl was sad when Naaman got sick.
So she told him ‘bout Elisha.

Naaman was sick. What did he do?
Naaman was sick. What did he do?
Naaman was sick. What did he do?
He went to see Elisha.

Elisha told Naaman, “Wash in the Jordan.”
Elisha told Naaman, “Wash in the Jordan.”
Elisha told Naaman, “Wash in the Jordan.”
“Wash seven times in the Jordan.”

Dip, dip, dip, Naaman you.
Dip, dip, dip, Naaman you.
Dip, dip, dip, Naaman you.
Dip seven times in the Jordan.

Naaman washed in the Jordan and was healed.
Naaman washed in the Jordan and was healed.
Naaman washed in the Jordan and was healed.
He went to see Elisha!

“Now I know there is no other God.”
“Now I know there is no other God.”
“Now I know there is no other God.”
“None but the God of heaven.

Dip, dip, dip, Naaman you.
Dip, dip, dip, Naaman you.
Dip, dip, dip, Naaman you.
Dip seven times in the Jordan.
"The Leaves in the Tree" (sung to 'Wheels on the Bus')

The leaves on the trees turn orange and brown, orange and brown, orange and brown.
The leaves on the trees turn orange and brown, all through the town.

The leaves on the trees come tumbling down, tumbling down, tumbling down.
The leaves on the trees coming tumbling down, all through the town.

The leaves on the ground go swish, swish, swish. Swish, swish, swish. Swish, swish, swish.
The leaves on the ground go swish, swish, swish, all through the town.

" Autumn Leaves" (sung to 'London Bridge')

Autumn leaves are falling down, falling down, falling down,
Autumn leaves are falling down,
welcome Autumn.

Sweep the leaves and put them here, put them put here, put them here,
Sweep the leaves and put them here,
welcome Autumn.

Jump right in and have some fun, have some fun, have some fun,
Jump right in and have some fun,
welcome autumn.

 "Jingle Jangle Scarecrow"

When all the birds are sleeping and the sun has gone to bed
Up! jumps the scarecrow and this is what he said,
"I'm a jingle-jangle scarecrow with a flippy-floppy hat,
I shake my hands like this, and I shake my feet like that.

And when all the cows were sleeping,
and the sun was behind a cloud
Up! jumped the scarecrow and shouted VERY LOUD,
"I'm a jingle-jangle scarecrow with a flippy-floopy hat,
I shake my arms like this, and I shake my arms like that.
